Every network call this app can make.

Filemorph's privacy claim is architectural, not a policy promise: file processing never touches a server. This page lists every way the app can use the network, what triggers it, and how you can check. App Store privacy label: Data Not Collected.

Requests the app itself makes

Request When What is sent Endpoint
AI model download Only when you tap Download on an AI Enhance model that is not bundled (SPAN and RealPLKSR ship inside the app; the others are fetched on demand) A standard HTTPS GET for the model file. No account, no identifiers beyond what any HTTPS request carries (your IP address, as with any download). Nothing about your files. https://models.filemorph.app/models/v1/
(Cloudflare R2)

That is the complete list. There is no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no sign-in, no license server. Conversion, editing, OCR, speech-to-text, and every AI model run on the device — the Neural Engine does the work.

Requests made by iOS on the app's behalf

One case to know about: rendering documents with WebKit

Converting HTML, EPUB, Word, PowerPoint or OpenDocument files to PDF uses Apple's WebKit to lay the document out. JavaScript is disabled during rendering. However, if a document you convert references images or stylesheets by an absolute web address, WebKit may fetch those resources while rendering — exactly as Safari would when opening the file. Your document itself is never uploaded. If you want a guarantee of zero network traffic for such a file, convert it in Airplane Mode; the render completes with the remote assets simply missing.

On-device by construction

Every conversion and editing operation is built on Apple's own on-device frameworks:

Each of these runs locally by design; several of them cannot be pointed at a server at all.

Diagnostics

Crash and hang diagnostics are collected by iOS (MetricKit) and stay on the device; the app never transmits them. If you choose to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple, not Filemorph, handles that channel.

How to verify

  1. Airplane Mode: turn off Wi-Fi and cellular, then convert anything. It works.
  2. Settings → Cellular → scroll to Filemorph: data usage stays at zero unless you downloaded a model.
  3. On a Mac, run the macOS app with a firewall monitor (Little Snitch, LuLu) and watch: the only connection you can provoke is the model download.
  4. Compare with any web converter: the upload progress bar is the point.

Frequently asked questions

Does Filemorph upload my files to convert them? +

No, never. Every conversion, edit and AI enhancement runs on your device. The only network request the app makes on its own is the AI-model download you start yourself — model weights, not your files; see the WebKit note above for the one case where a document you convert can cause a fetch.

Why does the app ask for network access at all? +

It does not, in the way you might expect. iOS never prompts you to grant Filemorph network access. The only network request the app makes on its own is the AI-model download you start yourself, by tapping Download on a specific model; see the WebKit note above for the one case where a document you convert can cause a fetch.

Can I use Filemorph with no internet? +

Yes. Every conversion, edit and on-device AI operation works with no internet connection at all. The only thing that needs a connection, once, is downloading an AI Enhance model you have not used before; after that it works offline too.
